First you want to view network connects

If you want to VIEW THE NETWORK CONNECTION Windows 8.1 you should select start button and can search by typing to network connection and find on the List.

In Windows 7 is opened the network connection, select start then in the search box you type adapter and then you can find the network and sharing Center from that select you view network connections.

Now you are in the view network connection in both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Now from that you select and active network connects, now on the toolbar you can select view status of this connection.

Then you select the detail from the detail list, you come into the value column because the IP address is written next to IPv4 address
